Rafael Armament Development Authority
2 storey 30 x 50 modular exhibit
Objective
Work collaboratively with both Rafael and their marketing agency to interpret exhibit design, modifying into a more modular design intended to mimic the look and feel of the European design, but built with weight and transport efficiencies in place in order to ensure the high costs associated with heavier exhibits within the US were minimized. In addition, a two storey element would need to be incorporated in order to allow overhead viewing of add-on Rafael defense equipment affixed to an Oshkosh military vehicle positioned within the booth.
Further requirements would be the inclusion of AV technology for multiple interactive, touch-screen monitors and looping videos.
Solution
Stevens E3 has worked with Rafael, an Israeli based firm, for more than a decade, and in the true sense, we are a North American partner, working to help be the eyes and ears of Rafael within the United States. Objectives communicated are interpreted into the approach we take with each and every build that we do for Rafael. Our solution for this environment was to develop a lightweight two-storey modular structure spanning 30 ft in width and 30 ft in depth within this 30 x 50 ft space. Several custom kiosks for product specific video presentations were custom fabricated and include rental multi-touch monitors with looping videos and interactivity. Huge branding messages were created wherever possible utilizing tensioned fabric solutions to minimize weight and maximize seamless impact.
Weapons brackets for the support of inert weapons were built to specification and secured to walls that were reinforced to support the load against them. Significant amounts of overhead lighting helped to illuminate and brighten the environment, and prominent logo placement throughout the booth helped create visibility from several aisles away. Private meeting rooms with soundproofed walls and ceilings were built from Octanorm modular elements, and a kitchen/storage room helped facilitate the catering requirements of the event and the literature dispensing.
A second storey semi-private lounge offered comfortable seating and tables around which to facilitate informal meetings. Further intentions of the second level included the ability to view overhead installed Rafael add-on armor on an Oshkosh vehicle. A multi-touch monitor placed on the second level allowed for videos and interactive presentations of Rafael products could be presented while attendees could see the products on the vehicle infront of them.
