Natural Resources Canada

30 x 70 Pavilion

Objective

Canada's mining sector, lead by Natural Resources Canada planned to work together with various federal departments and agencies to generate a cohesive presence at the annual PDAC conference held in Toronto, Canada. Emphasis on innovation, expertise and collaboration were important, and Canada wanted to demonstrate its experience in mineral knowledge, geoscience, investment opportunities and engagement with both its indigenous community as well as other countries. Canada was seeking a company that could consolidate the message "Collaboration, Innovation and Expertise". The pavilion was to be open, yet has the ability for private conversations to occur, and be highly visible on the show floor.

Solution

stevensE3 developed a solution that utilized our extensive inventory of Maxima system rental along with the utilization of tensioned fabric graphics produced in-house. The design featured a welcome desk area, and a presentation area for 18 people with a video wall, stage and podium. A small lounge area with comfortable seating allowed for more intimate visits, which a bistro area featured less formal seating for casual conversations to take place. Secure display cases featured museum quality pieces displays as conversation pieces within the pavilion environment. A key feature was the huge fabric graphic that wrapped around the booth at the 16 ft level allowing excellent visibility throughout the exhibition hall. The timeline for completion was extremely tight, and this was important for Canada with the tender closing on the 24th of January, and the event beginning on March 4. The ability for the winning bidder to complete large projects quickly featured strongly in the grading and evaluation of bidders.
